Condition: The box shows especially around the edges. The books themselves show very minor wear around the edges - probably from being put in & removed from the box set. The books are tightly bound & have the feeling of never being opened wide to be read - volumes I & II. Surprisingly, Volume III shows the most wear. No writing, torn or missing pages noted. There is a line of marker on the back, inside cover of The Return of the King.
The print in these editions is a larger print - perfect for both young & older readers alike. A wonderful set for the Tolkien lover in your life.
