About Log Cabin Vintage
Hi, I'm Wendy
...and I was the girl who stayed up all night reading by flashlight long past my bedtime. From the moment I learned to read, I was never without a book. I spent hours up in the big maple tree in our side yard, or lost in a story on long drives to the mountains with my family. That love of reading never left me.
I've lived in historic Bucks County, Pennsylvania my entire life. My family and I really do live in a log cabin, and I'm a self-proclaimed homesteader, minus the farm animals thanks to land restrictions. I also serve on the Board of Directors of The Peter Wentz Farmstead Society, whose mission is to preserve and celebrate 18th century German life at this historic Montgomery County property.
A few years ago, I decided to revisit some of my childhood favorites. While searching for those long-lost books, I discovered there was no single destination for finding vintage and antique children's books. So Log Cabin Vintage was born. My mission is simple: reuniting you with your favorite books from childhood, and to help you discover ones that should have been yours all along.
What I do here is more than selling books. I lovingly curate a full library of stock, hunting down the kinds of titles you simply cannot find on a bookstore shelf anymore and carefully packaging each one for its journey to a new home. These books carry the marks of their years: a worn spine, a child's name penciled inside a cover, pages softened by many readings. That's not damage. That's history. That's proof that a book was truly loved.
Many of the titles you'll find here are homeschool favorites, including the vintage school books, Weekly Readers, classic literature, and living history series that families return to again and again because the quality of the writing and the richness of the content simply hasn't been matched. But whether you're building a homeschool curriculum, rekindling a piece of your own childhood, or searching for a gift that will actually mean something, what brings most people here is the same thing: the desire to put a truly good book into someone's hands.
These books deserve to be read, loved, and passed down all over again.
"Your passion for saving these fine books from a different, glorious age means much to me." — Jane, a happy customer
