Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's cover has some minor foxing noted. The insides are clean - no writing, torn or missing pages noted. Both books are tightly bound with no damage to their hinges.
First edition identifiers: A true first edition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory boasts a red or blue cover. The dust jacket price is $3.95 marked on the inside flap and there is no ibsn number on the back panel of the dust jacket. You would also find a six-line colophon on the last page of the book. In Chapter 16, the Oompa-Loompa's are referred to as African Pygmies (this was later changed in editions in the early 1970s I believe). The copyright page states 1964 as the publication year and states First Edition.
As you can see from the detailed photos of this edition - the price of $3.95 on the inside flap matches, the colophon is only four lines. The text regarding the Oompa-Loompa's matches. The copyright page does note the 1964 publication date, however, does not state First Edition. There is also an isbn number on the back panel of the dust jacket. Therefore, this is a very early edition, but not a true, first edition.
