Lois Lenski's American Regional Series are classic living books capturing everyday childhood and family life in early American communities. These books were aimed at exposing children to different ways of life throughout America. A great feature is that Lenski did not shy away from hardships found throughout different regions, making these stories interesting and relatable to children.
