Pivoting in 2022 - What's Coming?

Pivot…Last year I did not like the word pivot at all. I did not want to pivot with business, life, anything – probably because I do not like change. Maybe it has something to do with being an old soul? This year I embraced the word & it has led to a few changes within my business. Launching the website was a huge pivot in 2021. The website has been great – connecting to customers on a more personal level has been such a joy.

But here’s the thing - selling vintage home decor can be overwhelming & often times there is a lot of inventory involved & even more packing materials involved (and yet somehow, there is never the right size box when you need it). Vintage Home Décor is such a broad realm & though the focus has always been on Flea Market Décor Style, it is still too broad - it lacks focus.  So, I decided to narrow it down & focus on one niche within vintage home décor.

Drumroll please...after much consideration & thought, I have decided to pivot (there's that word again) & to focus the website on vintage and antique books.

You see, books have always been my thing - I have been an avid reader since I was a child, I love to decorate with books & to collect books (I think I am up to about 13 different hardcover editions of Rebecca).  So pivoting the website to a vintage book shop is really a no brainer.  And once the decision was made, everything just fell into place. The book inventory fits into my office (something not happening right now with the vintage home décor), planning for 2022 has been a breeze - the 2022 content calendar is almost finalized & it brings me joy!  I am excited about what will be offered/featured in 2022 - there is so much goodness yet to come.

What does this mean for the website?  Vintage home décor will remain on the website through the end of 2020.  If there is anything on the site you have had your eye on, please consider purchasing it now.  Once January 1st rolls around, the website will change over to be a vintage book shop with a new look based around my love for old books.  For local customers, I will be keeping my booth at The Factory Antiques in Silverdale as well as doing a pop-up market or two throughout the year.

I hope you will continue to follow along & support my business - I am so grateful for all of the support received so far.  A wonderful inventory of books is waiting to be listed & I know you will find the perfect books to read, collect & to decorate your home.

Let’s get reading,

Wendy
